Who Photographs the Photographer?
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? - who watches the watchers?
Like many people, I love people-watching. But even more fun than that is watching people watching people - especially when cameras are involved. I’ve always been fascinated by people photographing - that moment of deep focus when we become completely absorbed, unaware of how we’re being seen ourselves. There’s something funny and tender about it, the way our bodies twist and lean, the seriousness of it all.
What began as a lighthearted observation slowly turned into a reflection on the act of seeing itself. Photography is, after all, a loop of looking: we frame the world, but we’re also part of it, constantly being seen in return.
This series is a small study on that loop - on attention, curiosity, and the instinct to preserve moments before they slip away.
